So we have access again. There was a problem at the phone company’s site. They had crossed the lines at the box or something like that. Ptthbt to AT&T for the run around when we initially called them and having to let Earthlink contact them to get the line straightened out. I’m not impressed with the death star’s lack of customer service.

Access down at the house
We’ve had the internet access in-accessible at the house for the last week. Earthlink is researching what is wrong with the DSL line, but whatever it is, we can’t use it right now. So DH is not happy with this, and neither am I.

eyeballs, meet alligators
Last weekend, I got word about a gig that I’ve been scrambling to meet. The folks wanting this are catching me at the last minute getting multiple people for it. So a friend of mine is coming in from out of town to help me out. Unfortunately, my house is not in any sort of semblance of humanly habitable. So DH & I have been doing some heavy lifting to get it close to that. Time that I would have tried to post has been taken up with getting ready. Its part of the disadvantages of dealing with things getting way out of hand at the house.
Any way, we are closer to having things not perfect, but acceptable. Here’s hoping that the weather will co-operate for all involved this weekend.

Music this weekend
Birmingham has a music festival this weekend, City Stages, and it starts on Friday the 13th. I’m hoping to see L’Angelus play again. DH & I saw them at City Stages 2 years ago. They were lots of fun.
Right now the weather forecast say there’s a small chance of rain for the weekend, and the temperatures should only be in the mid 80s, not the mid 90s. I’ll take that for mid June any day!

Oven working again
Remember when I said that our oven heating element was dead? Well, now that school is out, DH has had the time to pull the dead heating element out of the oven and get a replacement. He got it put in last Thursday, and we’ve had baked meals Friday, Saturday and today. 
Yay DH!
