Can't believe I'm just now reading this. You did the right thing, and it sounds like you know it. I've been through this with a dear cat before, and the pain is so unimaginably deep, isn't it.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your story made me tear up and brought back memories of our putting our Rosco kitty down just a few short years ago. He was solid white and I also 'saw' him for at least two years - but, sometimes, even now - I still see him. Just every now and then. Maybe it's him saying "Hi" to me from Heaven. I miss him so much. My thoughts are with you!!

Thank you so much for your comment. We were blessed to have her with us for as long as we did. The kitties are our family, too. The next oldest, Ivanova, is 10 years old and the "baby" Marcus is 8. The only folks who think that animals don't have emotions and feelings are ones who don't spend time with them. Both of our other cats are missing Delenn. Each are showing it in a way that is peculiar to them. Marcus has become very clingy, and Ivanova is searching and crabby. Love on your kitties, and appreciated them while they are still with you. Delenn went from regular weight to 3.5 lbs in a month and a half. If you find that one of your fur babies is losing weight, get them checked out.

DH & I have been seeing Delenn in different places that she used to frequent, so we both feel like she is around still.

ahh, I'm so sorry that it came to that for you and Delenn. She was a beautiful girl and, from the way you speak of her, seems to have been a joy. I have three elder cats and fear this decision myself, they are my best friends. My personal belief is that, in the greater consciousness beyond the physical, our loved ones that pass on "see" and "hear" us, and I'm certain that your girl is grateful for the end of pain and wishes you well from where she is now. Thank you for sharing her story with us.

I don't know about that, but having her hang on longer would be selfish on our part. In the end, its about what is best for her.
