DH has started the 10,000 km on his Ural. Yes, you read it right. The odometer is in kilometers, along with the service intervals. This is a somewhat major service for the bike. He started it on Saturday this weekend, and will be continuing it until everything gets finished. He’s drained all the fluids and replaced the engine oil filter. He’s got to remove and clean the air filter, check and clean the valves, check the linkages and toe-in of the sidecar, replace the fork oil, check the wiring, and a number of other stuff. There’s going to be lots of wrench turning and knuckle busting. It should be very entertaining to hear some of the descriptions of the parentage of the bike and its designers by the time he’s done with all parts of the service.
