to stock up for a trip. I browsed the art, self help and science fiction and fantasy aisles. DH hit the history, science fiction and fantasy, and music and video aisles. It was an interesting trip.
I’ve read the skiffy and fantasy books for a very long time. It was different looking at the selection in the store for skiffy and fantasy. There is now a large contingent of dark fantasy, or fantasy/horror crossovers. And most of them appeared to be, shall we say, on the erotic side. I imagine that they might be ok, but they aren’t what I’m looking for in fun F&SF books. I picked up John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War and The Ghost Brigades, as well as The Artist’s Way. DH picked up a several history books.
